Our ATV frail mower, Grass Topper units offer you great flexibility. Thanks to the petrol engine, with an impressive 15 HP performance, you can stay independent with this mowing unit, irrespective as to whether you are using the frail lawnmower with a quad / ATV, a mowing tractor, a narrow-gauge tractor or even towing using a personal vehicle.
The mowing unit is connected to the towing vehicle with a simple ball head coupling.
The cutting height can be simply adjusted using the threaded spindle below the drawbar. For the transport position the screw jack can be used. The four-stroke petrol engine drives the mowing unit via 2 V-belts.
A heavy trailing roller has been installed towards the rear of the mulcher. The engine can be started by a key ; 12 volt battery comes as part of the delivery. Alternatively the engine can be started using a recoil cord.
The 28 installed paddle flails cut the clippings to the minimum size. Even very high grass, bushy or straw-like clippings are no problem for this mower! Thanks to the large, stable pneumatic tyres, the mower can also be moved on very uneven surfaces without difficulty.
The device is delivered well packed and part-assembled in a wooden crate. You should allow approx. 2-3 hours for final assembly. A step by step assembly instruction as well as several exploded-view drawings are part of the manual that comes with your mower. Assembly is not difficult. However, in the event that you require any assistance, we are happy to help you. You will need approx. 1 litre of engine oil for the engine. For this purpose we recommend multi-grade oil of classification 10W40 or 15W40

I have just assembled the jansen 120 and it worked fine for 1 cut then the belt snapped. Could you tell me why? I made sure that the belt gap was approximately 3mm as it said in the booklet

Just FYI....I found a 1100mm belt works far better as it allows a better wrap on the tensioner and is easier to fit without damaging it getting it around the pulleys.

This is not caused by technical problem of mower : Has this customer ever worked with a flail mower ? If belt pulleys are in one line, nothing will happen for years except if customers mowing speed is too high. This will burn or cut belts – no matter which flail mower it is. Customer have to adjust mowing speed to grass high or mass of grass. This is a typical beginners mistake. Normally you can hear engine noise and engine is going down in speed. Beginner ignore this. Engine has to run smoothly in one speed. If it doesn´t the towing speed have to be reduced. And please tell him to read the owners manual and more important the attached assembly instructions.
